How Sleep Apnea Can Affect Your Child’s Development

Today we have a great guest post by Alex Smith on Sleep Apnea. My son, Joshua, actually had sleep apnea when he was young and thankfully it was remedied with a tonsillectomy. He still snores a bit but at least he isn't struggling to breath as he sleeps and he no longer wakes up tired after 13 hours of sleep!


Sleep apnea is a common disorder, in fact, over 18 million Americans have it, and there are estimates that an additional 10 million people have it and don’t even know it. When you hear statistics like this, it’s not uncommon to dismiss it as pertaining exclusively to adults, but sleep apnea is a disorder that affects many children as
