My Kid's Schedules

After having people ask over and over again, I've given in to peer pressure and decided to add my kid's schedules to this blog. I've been hesitant to do this before now because some people seem to take what my kids do to be exactly what their child should be doing and that ends up
bad for everyone.  This obviously isn't the case, and if you promise you won't do this, then I'll keep adding them :)

These schedules will be helpful not only because they'll give you a sample to reference (and you can find more here), but hopefully they'll help you with some of your own troubleshooting along the way.

As you'll see from each of my posts, my kids are not perfect sleepers. I have to troubleshoot just like the rest of you. I DO NOT have children who like to sleep and I certainly do not have what the baby whisperer would classify as 'angel sleepers'(although I'm still dreaming about having one of these!). I've had to work to get where I am today and I have to be consistent and have boundaries for my children. I guarantee you I'd have children that never napped and went to bed at midnight every night otherwise. Really, I would. They'd rather be doing almost anything than sleep and they are both very strong willed.

The good news about this is that you get to see that you aren't the only one with a child who doesn't love to sleep and who doesn't sleep perfectly all the time. This is not only encouraging, but you'd probably get sick of hearing how perfect my children slept all the time if that were actually the case!

I think showing a variety of schedules is a great idea and useful for parents!

  2. The second link doesn't work. I was hoping to find a few examples of a newborn schedule. Do you happen to have notes on what yours were or other great examples?

    1. You can find newborn schedules here:

Mine varied with each child and what worked best with our routine. Mainly I varied the feedings in the evening a bit to fit with putting my other kids to bed. I cluster fed my kids, but only for the first 1-1.5 months. After that they were not interested at all. They also usually did a short nap on their own in the evening (sometimes with me holding them if they were fussy).
